FOR EMPLOYERS

CDC helps businesses attract, retain, develop and manage their most important resource - their employees.

CDC's professional staff counsels employers on such issues as finding, hiring, developing, and retaining good employees and planning and implementing successful workforce realignments or reductions.

CDC counselors work with employees at all levels, from entry to upper management, at the workplace or in CDC offices. Programs are designed to meet each company's specific needs, budget, and timetable. CDC works with both individuals and groups. Services may involve one-time consultations, complete career management, or outplacement programs.

Specific services for employers include:

Group and Individual Career Management Counseling

CDC professionals assess careers and skills to promote individual and team performance and professional advancement.

Services include one-on-one assessment and counseling, performance development, goal setting and review, professional coaching and team-building workshops.

Outplacement Services

Outplacement programs help management terminate employees with consistency, fairness, and compassion. Terminated employees are offered career counseling services to help them make the transition to another position more quickly and successfully. In addition, group/individual counseling increases morale and productivity of employees who stay with the company

Recruiting Services

CDC professionals help companies find candidates with the right qualifications, experience, and personal characteristics to fill open positions. CDC professionals can act as recruiters, bringing companies only the top contenders for a position. They also counsel employers who choose to do their own hiring on the fine points of recruitment, including training in efficient methods of interviewing, checking backgrounds and checking references.

Relocation Assistance

Companies who provide families with relocation assistance, not only increase the chances that a relocation offer will be accepted, they also achieve a more positive corporate image, both internally and in the business community.

And, needless to say, employee productivity is increased when an individual is confident that his/her family is receiving professional attention to aid the transition.

The Career Development Center offers comprehensive Relocation Assistance Services to ease the burdens experienced by all family members. From connecting families to reseources to help them choose a neighborhood or school to guiding "trailing" spouses/partners in their job search. The CDC provides specialized programs tailored to the needs of each family. The CDC also has immigrant employment specialists on staff to assist immigrants with a relocation.
